Launched on October 1, Sora allows users to create short videos using AI, share them with shared content sources, and interact with other videos. The app currently only supports iPhones running iOS 18 or later, and requires an invite code to register for use.

To participate, users need to:

1: download the Sora app from the App Store.

2: Log in with an OpenAI account.

3: Select "Notify me when access is open".

4: Enter the access code upon request.

According to OpenAI, the company is prioritizing giving priority to ChatGPT Pro users who pay. Sora is only available in the US and Canada, but OpenAI said it will soon expand to other markets.

On platforms such as Discord, X ( Twitter) and Reddit, many users have shared public invitation codes, allowing those who are not on the priority list to have the opportunity to experience early.

After having access, users can create videos from text or images, even appearing as characters in videos or reversing videos created by others.

This application works based on the Sora 2.0 model - an upgraded version from the original Sora technology launched in 2024. OpenAI said the new model is capable of producing more accurate movement, more realistic images, and easier content control than before.
