While using a computer, many people encounter a hanging machine but the mouse still moves normally.
This is a sign that the system is partially "frozen", possibly due to a software or hardware problem.
According to technology experts, users can do some of the following steps to fix this problem:
wait a few minutes for the system to be handling heavy tasks
Technical expert Mark Hachman from PCWorld recommends that users wait 1-2 minutes in this case. The computer may be running heavy processes such as software updates, virus scanning or processing large files, causing the system to respond slowly. The wait helps determine whether this is a temporary mistake or a more serious mistake.
Using Task Manager to check and close error-prone applications
If your mouse is still active, press the Ctrl + Shift + Esc keystroke to open Task Manager. Here, you can see which apps are using unusually a lot of CPU or RAM. Right click on the doubting application and select End Task to close.
This helps free up resources and can bring the system back to a stable state.
change important work as soon as possible
If the device is temporarily recovering after the failed application is closed, save the working data immediately. It is very likely that the error will repeat, and you do not want to lose important data because you have not saved it yet.
Restart the computer
If Task Manager cannot be opened or the system continues to hang, click Ctrl + alt + Del, select the source icon in the lower right corner of the screen and select Restart. If there is no response, you can hold the source button for 5-10 seconds to turn off the excavator.
Checking the underlying cause
If this happens frequently, check the device with the virus driver, update the latest driver or upgrade RAM if the device is overloaded. In addition, faulty hard drives or lack of system resources are also common causes of partial hanging.
Note
When the computer is hung but the mouse is still running, users should not rush to turn off the device but should calmly follow the above steps.
If the error occurs continuously, you should take the device to the technical center for further inspection.
Proactiveness and basic understanding will help you reduce risks and avoid losing unwanted data.
