A district headquarters in Ho Chi Minh City will be used as a new ward headquarters

HCMC - The current headquarters of District 6 People's Committee will be used as the headquarters of the new Binh Tien Ward People's Committee after the arrangement.

According to the project to reorganize commune-level administrative units of Ho Chi Minh City, District 6 will reorganize the current 10 wards into 4 new wards.

Binh Tay Ward: Formed from the merger of Ward 2 and Ward 9, with an area of 1.05 km2 and a population of 63,293 people.

Binh Tien Ward: Established on the basis of merging Wards 1, 7 and 8. This is the ward with the largest population of 91,520 people on an area of 1.61 km2.

Binh Phu Ward: Formed from the merger of Wards 10, 11 and part of Ward 16 of District 8, with an area of 2.86 km2, population of 75,925 people.

Phu Lam Ward: Formed from Wards 12, 13 and 14 of District 6, with an area of 2.00 km2, population of 87,513 people.

According to Ms. Le Thi Thanh Thao - Chairman of District 6 People's Committee, after implementing the two-level urban government model, the current headquarters of District 6 People's Committee will be converted into the headquarters of Binh Tien Ward People's Committee.

This is a step to effectively take advantage of the modernly invested administrative infrastructure, while better serving the people in the most populous new ward of District 6.

Ms. Le Thi Thanh Thao said that the District 6 Public Administration Center (located at the District 6 People's Committee headquarters) has just been invested in to meet modern standards to serve the people.

In particular, since March 2021, the automatic file receiving and return system placed in front of the District 6 People's Committee headquarters has been put into operation.

In this system, people submit their application to the machine, get the receipt number; when coming to receive the application, they just need to enter the receipt code. The system is capable of automatically receiving and returning paper documents, continuously serving 24/7.

Ho Chi Minh City plans to test operate new wards and communes from June 15 to 20, before officially putting them into operation from July 1.

According to Ms. Le Thi Thanh Thao, if the ward is chosen as a point for the new model, District 6 will choose Binh Tien ward.
