ChatGPT adds shopping assistant feature, supports users to hunt for products at the end of the year

Quang Minh |

At the end of the year shopping season, OpenAI has significantly upgraded ChatGPT's shopping support capabilities with the "shopping research" feature.

OpenAI has just begun implementing "shopping research", a new feature designed to simplify the process of searching and comparing products. This tool is open to all users, including free accounts.

Just log in and select "shopping research" from the "+" menu, users can experience it immediately. ChatGPT will also automatically forward appropriate questions to this model. For example, when typing the sentence: finding the sexiest wireless vacuum cleaner for a small apartment, ChatGPT will activate the shopping mode itself.

However, OpenAI still warns that the tool may make errors in selling prices or product availability.

"We recommend that users check directly on the sales page to be sure about the information" - the company said.

The tool currently works best with items with many comparative parameters such as electronics, cosmetics and household appliances.

Although there are still certain limitations, this new step shows that OpenAI is looking to turn ChatGPT into a multi-function shopping assistant - where users can search, compare and make decisions faster among the myriad of options on the market.

In the context of technology companies promoting the application of AI in digital trade, the race to upgrade smart shopping experiences promises to heat up, bringing more convenience to consumers in the coming time.
