Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, leaders of the Government, the Government Party Committee, the collective leadership, cadres, civil servants, public employees, and workers of the Government Office and the Government Party Committee's support agency observed a minute of silence for victims who died in floods in the Central region and donated at least one day's salary to help people affected and affected by natural disasters.

This is an activity to share the difficulties and losses of people and localities, with the spirit of "mutual love", "the healthy leaves cover the torn leaves" "national love, compatriotism".

From the beginning of November until now, provinces and cities in the Central region have continuously had to withstand storm No. 13 and unprecedented prolonged heavy rain, surpassing the historical level in many years.

This is one of the serious and fierce natural disasters, causing great damage to people, property, production and business activities, infrastructure in localities in the Central and Central Highlands regions, especially the provinces of Khanh Hoa, Dak Lak, Gia Lai, Lam Dong.

The Prime Minister has issued many telegrams, chaired many meetings to direct ministries, branches, agencies and localities to focus on responding to storms early and remotely with the highest spirit of proactiveness, determination, prevention and response; established delegations led by the Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Ministers to directly inspect, urge and direct the implementation of response work in locations affected by floods; assigned Deputy Prime Ministers to directly look after each locality affected by floods.

However, the damage caused by storm No. 13 and floods was huge. According to incomplete statistics, the flood period from November 16 to now in 4 provinces alone has caused 102 deaths and missing people; 332 houses collapsed, collapsed, or were swept away; 933 houses were damaged; over 82,000 hectares of rice and crops were damaged; over 3.3 million livestock and poultry were killed or swept away...

The total preliminary economic damage is estimated at over VND13,000 billion, requiring large resources and a lot of time to overcome the consequences, bringing production, business and people's lives back to normal.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, emphasizing the motto of quick and timely action, the Prime Minister requested agencies to urgently complete the draft, submit to promulgate the Government's Resolution on solutions to overcome the consequences of natural disasters, quickly stabilize people's lives, restore production in localities in the Central region, the spirit of not being perfectionist, not being impatient and not missing opportunities while people and localities are in great need.

The Prime Minister stated that it is necessary to assign specific tasks to ministries, localities, and agencies, promote the proactive and positive spirit of each agency, unit, locality, and each related subject based on their functions, duties, powers, and responsibilities to act and implement work under the direction and direction of focus and unity.
