National Assembly deputies have donated at least one day's salary to support people in the Central and Central Highlands affected by natural disasters and floods.

Early in the morning of November 24, the National Assembly Standing Committee held a fundraising launching ceremony to support people in disaster areas to soon overcome difficulties and losses.

Speaking at the ceremony, Politburo member and Permanent Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Do Van Chien said that in recent days, historic floods, overlapping floods, and overlapping storms have caused very serious damage in the provinces of Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Khanh Hoa, Lam Dong and some other localities.

Although the Party, State, all levels, sectors, and armed forces have focused on storm prevention and natural disaster mitigation, very heavy rain, very strong winds, and water pouring downstream very quickly have caused very heavy damage.

According to incomplete statistics, there have been 91 deaths, 11 missing people, tens of thousands of houses were flooded and severely damaged, hundreds of thousands of hectares of crops were damaged, millions of livestock and poultry were swept away by floods.

According to the Standing Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, these damages are very heavy, leaving great pain and loss for people and localities in disaster-affected areas.

"At today's National Assembly session, leaders of the Party, State, Vietnam Fatherland Front and the National Assembly would like to express our deepest condolences to the families of the victims. We would like to share the difficulties and hardships of localities and people in disaster-affected areas," said Mr. Do Van Chien.

According to Mr. Do Van Chien, no matter how fierce the storm, flood, or natural disaster is, it will pass, but the comradely love, compatriotism and fine cultural traditions of our nation "the healthy leaves cover the torn leaves", "love others as you love yourself" will always remain.

"The National Assembly would like to acknowledge, thank and commend the military, police and other local forces for not managing difficulties, hardships, dangers, and volunteering to help the people.

Sharing with localities and people in disaster-affected areas, the National Assembly Standing Committee calls on all National Assembly deputies, cadres, civil servants, public employees, and workers at National Assembly agencies and the National Assembly Office to donate at least one day's salary to join hands with people to overcome the consequences of storms and floods", Mr. Do Van Chien shared.

At the same time, the National Assembly Office is requested to urgently compile the donated funds to transfer them to the damaged areas as soon as possible.

Millions of arms turn to compatriots affected by storms and floods

Consecutive storms and floods caused by storms have caused many deaths, missing people, and injuries; many houses and production and business establishments have had their roofs blown off and suffered heavy damage. People across the Central and Northern mountainous provinces are struggling day and night to cope with floods and heavy losses in human lives and property that cannot be counted.

"A piece of food when hungry is worth a package when full", with the spirit of mutual love that has always been a beautiful image of the Vietnamese people, the Golden Heart Social Charity Fund calls on domestic and foreign philanthropists to join hands to share with people affected by floods to have food, clothing, shelter, and students to have books to go to school.

The Golden Heart Social Charity Fund would like to sincerely thank the precious feelings of agencies, businesses, and domestic and foreign philanthropists.
