In recent times, the Vietnamese technology community has assessed the opportunity for strong transformation in the digital era, with the familiar nursery rhyme: Dragon snake up to the clouds. That means the year of Giap Thin must be marked by a milestone in technology development, with digital transformation being widespread in all areas of investment activities.
The Year of the Snake will be a different time, "upgrading" digital transformation nationwide into practical application, contributing to completely changing the national social, economic and administrative governance structure.
A technology expert in Ho Chi Minh City said: "All years of the Dragon and Snake will move "up to the cloud", meaning cloud computing applications and big data digitization will play an increasingly important role."
These predictions, looking back at 2024 and the direction of the new year 2025, can be said to be surprisingly coincident. The results of the movement and investment efforts of the telecommunications industry in 2024 are showing very new signals, breakthrough and bold development.
The whole country is undergoing a comprehensive digital transformation, marked by the end of 2G broadcasting and the beginning of 5G coverage, not only in large cities but also spreading to remote border areas.
The policy of digitalization at all levels of national administrative management has been seriously and effectively implemented, completely changing old management thinking and ending many long-standing limitations. The digitalization roadmap to "go to the cloud" by 2024 has thus been a clear success.
On the first day of the new year 2025, the national telecommunications industry positively evaluated the results of investment and development of technology infrastructure. Network connections from urban to rural areas, including the remote Truong Sa archipelago, are all smooth.
Some areas of community activities have recorded stable indicators of information transmission and network connection among people. Importantly, from this starting point, the whole country is orienting to strongly deploy a comprehensive and progressive digital technology power. This is shown in both the breadth and depth of digital transformation investment activities "to the cloud".
That is the national administrative management work is actively taking steps to streamline the apparatus, related to the digital efficiency in each part of state management, processing local information data, and updating citizen identification cards synchronously.
It can be said that the successful step in digitizing citizen data at level 2 of the whole country is a great change, a comprehensive change in the effectiveness of social order and safety management, solving social security issues. The time to implement this unified management data is very short, far exceeding many advanced countries.
That shows the consensus of the whole society, aiming at the criteria of technological development accompanying social life and political stability, which is not simple with the vision of national governance.
All acknowledge the efforts of the digital technology community, digital investment enterprises, with the responsibility to participate with the country's administrative apparatus, to improve the current state of social management and mobilize the strength of the community.
From these results, it can be seen that 2025 will continue to mark the maturity of the national technology industry, with larger and more sustainable goals, contributing to the serving power of the country's administrative system, and the spirit of cooperation of the social community.
The digital path "snaking up to the clouds" promises to continue to be successful, with digital economies and e-government increasingly spreading.
