On December 22, 2024, the Politburo issued Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW, which affirmed: Developing science and technology (S&T), innovation (ICT) and digital transformation (DCT) are the top important breakthroughs, the main driving force to rapidly develop modern productive forces, perfect production relations, innovate national governance methods, develop the socio-economy, prevent the risk of falling behind, and bring the country to breakthrough development and prosperity in the new era.
On January 9, 2025, the Government issued Resolution No. 03/NQ-CP on the Government's Action Program to implement Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW.
The Government's action program has set out 41 groups of targets and 7 groups of tasks with 140 specific tasks. Of which, key tasks such as perfecting institutions, developing high-quality human resources, building modern digital infrastructure, promoting scientific research, applying advanced technology and promoting innovation are included in the action program, with a specific roadmap and clear responsibilities.
Chairman of the Board of Members of VNPT To Dung Thai said that as one of the leading technology enterprises, the pillar of the country, the implementation of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW at VNPT will focus on three main priority tasks.
Firstly, promote investment in research and development (R&D), focusing on strategic technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data, IoT, Cloud and 5G/6G, to create a foundation for innovation and enhance competitiveness.
Second, build and develop advanced digital technology infrastructure, especially 5G networks, data centers and national digital platforms, to meet comprehensive digital transformation requirements.
Third, develop high-quality human resources through specialized training and attract domestic and international talent.
Mr. To Dung Thai affirmed that these tasks will be implemented synchronously and drastically, affirming the leading role of VNPT in the process of national development. State-owned technology enterprises such as VNPT and other enterprises play a pivotal role in realizing the contents of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW into practice.
These are units with strong financial, technological and infrastructure potential, and possess a team of experienced human resources, well meeting the requirements of implementing strategic goals.
VNPT and other leading enterprises are developing national digital infrastructure, especially deploying 5G networks, data centers and digital platforms for digital transformation. These projects not only ensure synchronous connectivity but also promote Vietnam's competitiveness in the region and the world. These are also considered important tasks, prioritized for implementation and early implementation in the spirit of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW.
In recent years, large technology enterprises such as VNPT have played a central role in R&D, testing strategic technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data, and semiconductor technology. These units are the pioneers in applying new technologies into practice, reducing dependence on foreign technology and enhancing national innovation capacity. Digital technology enterprises play an important role in popularizing technology to other economic sectors, from healthcare, education, to agriculture and manufacturing, contributing to promoting comprehensive socio-economic development.
In 2025, one of the tasks prioritized by VNPT is to pioneer in investing in developing high-tech infrastructure of AI, IoT, Cloud, Cyber Security; continue to expand commercial 5G coverage nationwide; test, develop, and apply new technologies and architectures on 5G infrastructure; continue to fully and comprehensively deploy the development of Digital Government towards Smart Government...
This is considered an urgent task that needs to be done quickly to promote national digital transformation, in the spirit of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW, as well as the specific direction of General Secretary To Lam; in order to truly create a breakthrough in the development of science and technology, innovation and national digital transformation in the coming time.
Mr. To Dung Thai affirmed that with experience participating in national digital transformation projects, VNPT is ready to consult and contribute policies to ensure that when policies are implemented, they will be the basis for breakthroughs in the development of science and technology, innovation and national digital transformation.
Implementing the contents of Resolution 57-NQ/TW is not only a responsibility but also an opportunity for key enterprises such as VNPT to affirm their position, become key pillars in the national digital transformation strategy, and bring Vietnam to new heights on the world technology map.
