At the working session, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Ho Quang Buu affirmed that eliminating wave white spots and wave depressions is not only a task to complete technical infrastructure but also a key solution to accelerate the digital transformation process.
To have an accurate database to submit to the Central Government, city leaders requested localities to urgently review and fully update data on areas without waves or weak waves. The deadline for completing this report is March 31.
The Department of Science and Technology is assigned the task of presiding over and closely coordinating with relevant units to organize synchronous implementation, not allowing the situation of decentralized and ineffective implementation.
Besides telecommunications infrastructure, grid infrastructure is considered a prerequisite. Mr. Ho Quang Buu requested relevant units to urgently implement the project to bring electricity to "remote and isolated areas" that are still without electricity.
Specifically, the project must be submitted to competent authorities in April and strive to complete the entire project before June 30. "The spirit is not to let any people in Da Nang have no electricity to use," the Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee emphasized.
For telecommunications businesses, city leaders proposed to strengthen coordination, provide infrastructure data and accelerate the investment progress of broadcasting stations (BTS). Localities need to create maximum conditions in terms of land, prioritizing the arrangement of BTS stations at village cultural houses to both ensure aesthetics and optimize coverage efficiency.
According to a report by the Department of Science and Technology, in the past time, the work of eliminating white spots in Da Nang has achieved remarkable results. Some mountainous residential clusters have been covered by mobile waves, and even some areas have accessed modern 5G technology.
However, reality still faces many challenges. Due to fragmented terrain conditions, traffic infrastructure and power grid in some remote and isolated areas are not synchronized, leading to intermittent waves, affecting people's communication and access to information.
Concluding the working session, Vice Chairman Ho Quang Buu requested units to act with a drastic spirit, without delay. Mobile coverage and bringing electricity to difficult areas is the key to improving livelihoods, improving people's knowledge and ensuring social security for people in areas with many disadvantages.
