This year, for the first time, Apple has included Vietnam in the group of markets that opened iPhone for early sale at the same time as the US, Singapore, China, Thailand or Australia. This moment has been long awaited by the domestic technology community, because previously users often had to wait a few weeks to own genuine products.
However, the joy is quickly accompanied by worries that the supply of iPhone 17 in Vietnam has not improved, especially the iPhone 17 Pro Max models, which are the highest-end version. Right from the first sale, the shortage of goods occurred widely.
The early launch in Vietnam has helped end the situation of Vietnamese people having to queue overnight in Singapore or Thailand to buy handheld devices to sell at a higher price. However, in the country, there is a situation where traders speculate, buy in large quantities and then resell immediately at prices many millions of VND higher than the listed price.

On social networks, groups buying and selling the iPhone 17 are active, especially focusing on the iPhone 17 Pro Max series with 256GB and 512GB capacity (considered the hottest version today), mainly 57 million VND higher than the genuine list.
For example, a Facebook account named Doan Tuan, who regularly posts advertisements on many groups buying and selling iPhone 17 Pro Max, is currently selling this model in orange version 256GB for more than 43 million VND and 512GB version for more than 49 million VND. Meanwhile, the listed prices at genuine dealers for the same product line are only 37.99 million VND (256GB) and 44.49 million VND (512GB), respectively.
While online sales accounts are constantly announcing their products, many genuine dealers are left empty. Customers who want to buy will have to deposit in advance, while those who want to own an iPhone 17 Pro Max must immediately accept paying a significant difference to buy by hand.
According to records, many authorized dealers (AARs) have announced that they have sold out the iPhone 17 Pro Max and some versions of the iPhone 17 Pro. Users can only pre-order and wait for the next shipment.
The reporter contacted the TopZone high-end technology store system, the employee said that this unit owed to deliver a large number of deposited orders. Customers are scheduled to receive their devices until October 26.
Due to limited supply, the system has stopped accepting new deposits, instead only recording information or instructing customers to register online or go directly to the store system in the next shipment (after October 26).
The scarcity has caused the price of the iPhone 17 Pro Max to skyrocket in the free market. Meanwhile, customers who book genuine products must wait patiently, at least until the end of October to have the opportunity to own the product at the correct listed price.
