On August 18, at Furama Da Nang International Convention Center, the Final Round of the Business Group of the Da Nang City Innovative Startup Competition (SURF 2026) took place.
This is a key activity within the framework of the Da Nang City Innovation Startup Day, aimed at finding, discovering and incubating potential startup projects. At the same time, creating opportunities for businesses to connect with experts, investors and domestic and international support organizations.
Speaking at the program, Ms. Le Thi Thuc - Deputy Director of Da Nang City Department of Science and Technology - said that Da Nang is gradually affirming its position as one of the dynamic innovation centers of the country.
In 2024, the city first entered the top 1,000 global innovative cities, ranking 896th. By 2026, Da Nang had risen to 554th position, up 342 places in just two years.
In 2026, the Contest is organized in two independent categories: Business category and Student category; attracting more than 150 applications from many different technology fields. In which, for the Business category, the Organizing Committee selected 35 projects to participate in the Preliminary Round. And today, the 10 most outstanding projects officially entered the Final Round," Ms. Thuc said.
Ms. Thuc also added that Da Nang city is committed not to stopping at organizing the contest. Potential projects will have access to the city's preferential support mechanisms and policies for innovative startups. Priority will be given to participating in incubation, acceleration, in-depth consulting and direct connection support programs with international partners.
Not only is it a place to participate in contests, introduce projects, improve capacity and connect.
The event is also an opportunity for the teams to listen to frank rebuttals, in-depth comments and strategic recommendations from the Judging Council, experts and investors. From there, improve business models, optimize products and shape the path to reaching large markets.
