Moscow suddenly becomes Russia's largest military recruitment center

Moscow is currently Russia's largest military recruitment center with about 20,000 volunteers joining the army each year.

On December 24, in the annual working report to the City Assembly (Moscow Duma), Mayor Sergey Sobyanin released detailed figures on the capital's human resources contribution to the special military campaign.

The report not only summarizes the activities of the city government but also affirms Moscow's key role in the current context of the conflict.

Mr. Sobyanin emphasized that Moscow currently not only plays the role of the country's political and economic center but also the largest "locomotive" in military recruitment. According to official statistics released at the meeting, on average, each year, about 20,000 residents of the capital voluntarily register and sign contracts to join the armed forces.

To achieve this impressive military recruitment result, he said the city government has proactively established a comprehensive support mechanism.

Moscow authorities do not stop at receiving registrations. They directly participate in organizing, guiding and supporting all related processes. The goal is to ensure that volunteers are given the most favorable conditions, quickly resolving legal and administrative procedures from the beginning of registration until officially starting to perform the task. This support helps reduce barriers and encourage people to join the army.

In addition to its role as a key human resource provider, the Mayor's report also highlights Moscow's position as a solid medical supporter. Mr. Sobyanin said that the capital is currently the largest medical center in the Russian Federation responsible for receiving war invalids.

The city's modern health system is being mobilized to the maximum to treat and restore the function of soldiers returning from war zones. Ensuring the best health care for soldiers after leaving the front is considered an important political task, along with military recruitment.

Thus, with two strategic spearheads: effective military recruitment and advanced health care systems, Moscow is holding a key position in ensuring combat strength and logistics for the Russian army.
