Market research company Counterpoint has just announced global smartphone (smartphone) market revenue from June-April this year. Accordingly, revenue increased by 7% compared to the same period last year, reaching 109 billion USD, although the number of machines shipped decreased.
According to experts, the highest Q2 revenue ever was achieved thanks to the fact that original device manufacturers (OEMs) continuously increased prices and the proportion of high-end devices increased. Average smartphone selling price (ASP) reached 400 USD, up 17% compared to the same period last year.
Apple achieved the highest Q2 revenue market share ever, 49% in Q2 2026, equivalent to 53.41 billion USD. Revenue from iPhone increased by 22% in Q2 this year compared to the same period, thanks to the number of products shipped increasing by 13% and the average selling price increasing by 8%. This is also the first time in history that iPhone revenue has exceeded the 50 billion USD mark.
Apple's growth is driven by stable demand for the iPhone 17 line, especially the standard iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro Max, helping to maintain the brand's high-end product proportion. Unlike strong price increases from competitors, Apple maintains relatively stable prices, reflecting the ability to absorb increased production costs and avoid memory crises.
However, Apple may increase prices in the coming quarters. This discipline has strengthened Apple's competitive position, allowing growth in both value and quantity even when most of the market shrinks.
Regionally, China, Europe and emerging markets are the most prominent markets, as stable prices have improved Apple's relative value in the context of widespread Android price increases," market research expert Tarun Pathak commented.
Samsung ranked 2nd in global smartphone revenue market share with 16% thanks to strong growth in both revenue and shipment volume, both increasing by 9% compared to the same period last year. The Korean technology giant maintained stable demand in the Galaxy A line, as well as the high-end smartphone Galaxy S26 being well received.
Oppo, Xiaomi, Vivo are the brands ranked after Apple and Samsung in global smartphone revenue in the past Q2. Compared to the same period last year, revenue of all 3 brands decreased, although their ASP all grew.
