Some 3D images believed to be of the upcoming folding screen iPhone model have appeared online, revealing more details about the design of the device that Apple plans to introduce later this year.
Technology source Sonny Dickson shared 2 images believed to be the 3D design of the folded iPhone model. These images show the back of the device with a design that matches many previous hardware leaks.
According to published images, the rear camera cluster of the folded iPhone model has a "floating pedestal" design, similar to the style on the iPhone Air line. However, the device is equipped with 2 cameras instead of 1 camera as on the iPhone Air model.
The overall design of the phone also shows 2 rounded corners, while the other 2 corners are more square to integrate hinges - an important part for foldable screen phones.
The design files also reveal the layout of the device when fully opened. In the top left corner of the screen there is a small dot, likely the location of the front camera.
Another image shows 2 outer edges of the device in both states: when opened and when folded. In folded state, the external secondary screen is also clearly shown in the build.
This time of year is usually when iPhone design images begin to appear more online, as the supply chain and manufacturing partners prepare for the mass production phase.
The leaked images this time also coincide with many recent rumors about the folding screen iPhone model - a product considered to be Apple's new step in the increasingly competitive folding phone market.
Apple is said to be cautious with folding screen phones due to concerns about hinge durability, screen folding and user experience. Meanwhile, Samsung and many Chinese brands such as Huawei, Xiaomi or OPPO have soon launched folding phone models, gradually perfecting technology and dominating this market.
Apple has not yet confirmed any information related to this device. However, observers believe that if the launch plan is as predicted, this will be a completely new iPhone model with a folding screen - appearing for the first time in Apple's product portfolio.
