At about 2:45 PM on July 19, many Facebook users in Vietnam simultaneously reflected that they could not access their accounts or were logged out of the platform.
When trying to log in, Facebook displays a message: "Your account is currently unavailable due to an issue on the website. We hope this issue will be resolved soon. Please try again after a few minutes".
Immediately after the incident occurred, many users switched to other social networking platforms to reflect the situation of not being able to access Facebook. Many people said they were suddenly logged out of their accounts, while others still could access but could not download the News Feed or perform operations such as posting articles, commenting, and sending messages.
User Nguyen Nhat Anh (Hanoi) said that at about 2:50 pm, he was suddenly logged out of Facebook. When re-entering, the system displayed a notification that the account was temporarily unavailable due to an incident on the website. "Initially, I thought the account was locked or hacked, so I was quite worried. After seeing many people also encountering the same situation, I realized that this could be Facebook's fault," Mr. Nhat Anh said.
User Thu Huong (Hanoi) also said that Facebook cannot upload content and continuously reports errors. "I was using Facebook to exchange work when the application suddenly stopped working. I hope Facebook will fix it soon because many daily tasks depend on this platform," Ms. Huong shared.
The above announcement shows that the incident originated from Facebook's system, not because the user's account was locked or violated policies.
Up to now, Facebook has not issued an official announcement about the cause or time to fix the incident.
