The Steering Committee for the 2026 high school graduation exam in Quang Tri province has directed the Department of Education and Training to proactively coordinate with the Provincial Police and functional agencies to urgently verify and clarify the incident.
The Ministry of Education and Training said that on the afternoon of July 18, Minister of Education and Training Hoang Minh Son had a working session with the Secretary of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee and the Steering Committee for the 2026 High School Graduation Exam of Quang Tri province.
At the working session, the Minister of Education and Training and the Secretary of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee agreed to direct strict, objective, and lawful handling; clarify the responsibilities of relevant organizations and individuals; and at the same time continue to review the organization of the exam in the area to promptly detect and handle violations (if any).
Up to now, based on the investigation results, the Investigation Security Agency of Quang Tri Provincial Police has initiated a criminal case and prosecuted 2 teachers related to the case. The case is being further investigated and handled according to the provisions of law.
The Ministry of Education and Training will continue to closely coordinate with Quang Tri province and functional agencies to monitor and direct the handling of the case according to the provisions of law.
Prosecuting 2 teachers, identifying 9 related candidates
On July 19, Quang Tri Provincial Police said that they had just initiated a case related to the negative exam at Le Truc High School, Tuyen Hoa commune.
Based on the results of investigation and verification, on July 17, 2026, the Investigation Security Agency of Quang Tri Provincial Police issued a decision to prosecute the case of "Abusing positions and powers while performing official duties" occurring at the Le Truc High School exam site, Tuyen Hoa commune, Quang Tri province during the 2026 high school graduation exam.
After the two teachers were prosecuted, functional agencies identified 9 candidates directly related to the exam corruption case at Le Truc High School.
