Android phones often come with personal safety features you hope you'll never need. But they provide a significant sense of peace of mind.
One of the standout features on Pixel devices is car crash detection, but it's absent from many other high-end Android smartphones.
Samsung has been working on bringing this feature to its flagship lines for a long time, but there has been no clear progress so far. With the Galaxy S25 series, Samsung has once again integrated a car collision detection sensor.
Leaked files from the Galaxy S25 Ultra suggest the device will feature crash detection sensors, similar to what's found on the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold 5, and possibly newer Fold devices.
However, while these smartphones all have sensors capable of identifying car accidents, the feature is not yet available on any device, in any region.
A hidden system app on One UI versions, called MoccaMobile, contains the code to enable or disable this sensor. But there is currently no UI or specific feature for users to access.
This suggests that Samsung may still be testing or developing the feature before it is officially launched.
