According to information from Lai Chau Department of Construction, recent prolonged heavy rains have caused landslides at Km76+690/National Highway 4D (the route from Lai Chau to Lao Cai) in Chu Va 12 village, Son Binh commune, Tam Duong district.
The above location was affected by landslides on both the positive and negative slopes, at risk of road closures, directly threatening the safety of people and vehicles.
To ensure traffic safety on the route during the construction period and to overcome the landslide location, the Department of Construction announced a ban on trucks with 3 axles or more and passenger cars with more than 29 seats traveling through Km76+690/National Highway 4D.

The remaining types of vehicles are allowed to circulate. Sleeper buses will move according to the regulation and instructions of the authorities. The temporary traffic diversion time is from 6:00 p.m. on June 23 until further notice.
During the ban period, vehicles will move on 2 alternative routes. In the first direction, vehicles moving in the direction of National Highway 4D to Km64+500 (inter-sectoral tricycle) turn right and move in the direction of National Highway 32 to Km351+500 (Doi tre tricycle, Phuc Than, Than Uyen communes) turn left in the direction of National Highway 279 (Than Uyen - Van Ban - to the following locations) and vice versa.
In the second direction, vehicles moving in the direction of National Highway 4D to Km64+500 (inter-sectoral tricycle) turn right and move in the direction of National Highway 32 (to Than Uyen, Mu Cang Chai, Nghia Lo, Thanh Son... Hanoi) and vice versa.
The Department of Construction also announced a ban on trucks with 3 axles or more and passenger cars with more than 29 seats passing through the landslide site at Km6+950/provincial road 131 from Then Sin commune (Tam Duong district) to Sin Suoi Ho commune (Phong Tho district). The remaining types of vehicles are allowed to circulate.
During the ban period, vehicles from Then Sin to Sin Suoi Ho travel along Provincial Road 130 to Km19+880, then turn right onto the Nam Xe - Sin Suoi Ho route and vice versa. The time for implementing traffic diversion starts from 9:30 a.m. on June 24 until further notice.
