A series of new features include the Gemini 2.5 Pro model and the Deep Search tool.
Although users could previously access the two tools through other platforms, the integration directly into the chatbot of AI mode shows Google's long-term orientation. That is to turn this mode into the main method of interaction with search engines.
These new updates continue the series of announcements at the recent I/O conference. At that time, AI mode began to be expanded to all Google users, and Deep Think was also introduced as an optional for the Gemini 2.5 Pro model.
Another feature that Google teased at I/O is the ability to make AI calls via Project Astra, which has now begun to appear, even at a limited level.
Specifically, AI will be able to contact local businesses to ask for information such as opening hours or prices. When users search for a business or service, an option like Let AI call to ask for a price can appear and start a call.
The AI calling feature has been rolled out to all Google Search users since today, while AI Pro and AI Ultra accounts will enjoy higher usage limits.
