Google is starting to deploy a new update for the Google Gemini chatbot, allowing direct file creation from the command input bar. Users just need to enter a request, then press the export button to download the content in the desired format.
The supported format list is quite diverse, including PDF, TXT, RTF, CSV, along with services such as Google Docs, Google Slides and Google Sheets.
Google said that instead of having to copy, paste and edit content, users can now easily switch jobs to other applications in just a few steps. The feature is being deployed globally for all Gemini users, including personal Workspace accounts.
Previously, Anthropic's chatbot Claude also supported creating and editing files, including Excel spreadsheets, from September last year.
Although not a pioneer, this update still makes Gemini more useful for regular users.
Google's continuous addition of file processing and export capabilities for Google Gemini shows that the AI race is shifting strongly to practical applicability.
When chatbots not only respond but also directly create complete products, the boundary between support tools and traditional work software is increasingly blurred.
This step helps Gemini catch up with the trend, while opening up expectations for an AI ecosystem that can replace many manual operations in daily work.
