According to a newly discovered document, Google said free users can now only create 2 photos per day, down from 3 photos/day before. The company wrote: The need for image creation and editing is very high. The limit can change frequently and will be reset every day.
It seems that Google is also limiting free access to Gemini 3 Pro, with information stating that non-paying users will only have basic access - daily limitations that can change frequently.
When Gemini 3 Pro began launching on November 18, Google committed to giving users 5 free queries per day, equivalent to Gemini 2.5 Pro.
These changes do not affect paying users. The Google AI Pro and AI Ultra packages still maintain the same limit of 100 and 500 queries per day, respectively.
Tightening the limitation shows that Google is trying to balance the growing demand for AI and the huge operating costs of the model behind it.
With major technology companies looking to switch to free users to a paid model to maintain profits, the question is whether Google will soon reopen access to general users as the heat around Nano Banana Pro and Gemini 3 Pro cools down.
