For Canva, AI can support quickly creating design templates according to needs. Google takes the example of users wanting to make leaflets for a party, AI will take advantage of information from the calendar to propose design templates suitable for the event.
Meanwhile, when connected to Instacart, AI can automatically add ingredients and necessary items to the shopping cart. If the user's calendar has an event such as a BBQ party, the system will rely on that information to build a suitable shopping list.
Google said it is cooperating with many other partners to expand similar integrations in the near future.
These features are based on Personal Intelligence - a technology that allows Gemini to exploit data from linked applications to provide feedback suitable for each user. The feature has been put into AI Mode since the beginning of this year and has been continuously expanded by Google.
Previously, Google allowed AI Search to refer to shares on Reddit to add a realistic perspective to the answer. At the Google I/O 2026 event, the company also announced many upgrades to help AI Search provide smarter and more accurate results.
