According to the discovery from version 7.40.0.790840830 of the application, Google is testing a new interactive system with a "React" button to replace the old "Like" button. When clicked, users can choose 1 of the 5 emotions to respond quickly.
A notable difference is how these responses are displayed. Previously, the "Like" button would have a heart icon in the comments section, not with a user representative photo. With the new system, each emoji reaction will appear as a separate comment, with a representative photo to help create the feeling of being chatted.
In addition, during the testing process, the application also automatically opens in the Create tab - where artificial intelligence (AI) creative tools are concentrated. This Tab was previously revealed by Google and was expected to be deployed in August.
Although it is not certain when these changes will be officially launched, both the new reactors and the new default interface are quite complete, signaling that they will likely become a new standard in the near future.
If widely rolled out, this change will mark a major step forward in turning Google Photos from a simple storage warehouse into a more vibrant interactive space between friends and relatives.
The integration of creative emocons and tabs also shows Google's orientation in bringing AI and social media elements deeper into the user experience.
