Meta has just announced three new features for Instagram, most notably " repost", a tool that helps users publicly share Reels and Favorites directly on their personal pages, while also recording the original author.
Previously, Instagram only allowed users to share other people's content through Stories or send via Direct messaging.
With Restore, the experience has changed: each shared content will appear in a dedicated Restore tab on your personal profile, operating similar to the layered photo tab. Thanks to that, both personal page owners and followers can easily find the content they have shared.
The biggest benefit of this feature is that the content creator will still have the same display name, and the post will be directly linked to the original post.
This helps the work reach new audiences naturally outside the scope of initial followers, acting as an effective "infographic" without the need for paid advertising.
The operation of the "Restart" feature includes three simple steps:
- touch the " return" button (a two-arrow symbol in a square) below Reel or Post.
- Add comments or notes if desired.
- The content will appear in the "Restart" tab on the personal page and in the followers' timeline.
In addition to Restart, Meta also introduced two new features. Instagram Map allows users to share locations where they last saw friends and explore posts from attractive locations.
This feature has appeared on Snapchat, now being added by Instagram to increase local interaction.
The third feature is Reels' friends page (Reels' friends Tab), where users can view public content that friends have interacted with, as well as receive suggestions from the recommendation groups (Blends) they participate in.
The addition of Restart and two new features shows that Instagram is continuing to expand creator support tools, while promoting the ability to spread natural content a key factor to maintain the appeal of this social networking platform.
