According to TrendForce, iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max will have a starting storage capacity of 256GB, equivalent to iPhone 17 Pro. Thus, Apple is said not to increase basic memory capacity this year.
Although not predicting that basic storage capacity will increase, TrendForce previously said that the retail price increase of iPhone 18 Pro models is "inevitable" due to increased component costs.
RAM costs have increased significantly due to prolonged memory chip shortages. In addition, the cost of storage memory and A20 Pro chips is also predicted to be higher.
TrendForce believes that the selling price of iPhone 18 Pro may be 200-300 USD more expensive than iPhone 17 Pro. If this scenario occurs, the starting price of iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max may be up to 1,399 USD and 1,499 USD respectively.
The main reason is said to be high memory costs in the context of strong demand for memory chips serving data centers and AI systems.
Apple is expected to announce the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max at the event on September 9.
