iPhone 18 Pro may be equipped with a Face ID hidden under the screen

Although the iPhone 17 Pro is about 4 months away from launch, information about the iPhone 18 Pro generation expected to appear next year has begun to appear.

According to Mr. Ross Young - Vice President of Counterpoint Research, who often makes accurate predictions about the screens of Apple products, the iPhone 18 Pro is likely to use Face ID technology hidden under the screen.

In a social media post today, Mr. Ross Young quoted OTI Lumionics CEO Michael Helander at the Screen Technology Conference as saying: We predict that the first phones using under-screen facial recognition technology with materials developed by OTI will be sold in 2026.

This shows that the iPhone 18 Pro may be one of the first models to adopt this technology, before it is widely used by other manufacturers.

Previously, journalist Wayne Ma from The Information also said that the iPhone 18 Pro will have a Face ID under the screen and only a small hole in the upper left corner is left for the Selfie camera.

The design will remove the current drug defect, but it is unclear whether Apple will continue to maintain the Dynamic Island feature.

The iPhone 18 Pro is expected to launch in September 2026.
