According to a new report by The Elec, Apple is still closely following the plan to produce the book-shaped folding screen iPhone model, often called iPhone Ultra by technology circles.
Sources said the device will begin mass production at the end of July, despite difficulties related to the pivot mechanism during testing.
Previously, some information suggested that Apple may have to postpone the launch schedule due to the hinge appearing with unusual noise after millions of folds and openings and the rate of errors during assembly being higher than expected.
However, partners in the supply chain are said to have overcome most of these problems, helping the launch plan in September remain unchanged.
Technology journalist Mark Gurman once said that the folding screen iPhone may be sold at the same time or slightly later than the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max.
The device is rumored to have a 7.8-inch folding OLED screen provided by Samsung Display, accompanied by a 5.5-inch secondary screen on the outside.
Apple is also said to be equipped with an A20 chip, a C2 modem developed by the company itself, a Touch ID integrated power button instead of Face ID, and a dual camera cluster on the back.
The hinge is provided by Shin Zu Shing and Amphenol, with production technology using 3D printing techniques to reduce weight and increase durability.
According to current rumors, Apple's first folding screen iPhone may be named iPhone Ultra and have a starting price of about 2,000 USD.
