The Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event just ended with grand introductions of new products, notably the Galaxy S25 phone line with outstanding artificial intelligence (AI) features.
However, another notable point is the smart glasses that Samsung is developing in collaboration with Google. Although only mentioned briefly at the event, this product appeared at the display booth, attracting a lot of attention.
Known by the codename “Project Moohan,” the smart glasses bear a striking resemblance to the Apple Vision Pro in design. From the large glossy black glass front to the silver and gray color scheme surrounding them, the device’s styling is reminiscent of Apple products.
In the display area, the words "Android XR" are clearly visible, referring to the operating system dedicated to extended reality (XR) devices that Google is developing.
However, detailed information about the device's specifications has not been announced by Samsung at this event. Based on previous revelations, Qualcomm is collaborating with Samsung and Google on this project and the Qualcomm logo also appears right on the back of the smart glasses.
This pretty much confirms that Qualcomm’s chipset will be at the heart of the device, but it’s unclear whether this demo version is the finished product.
One area to look forward to is comfort. While the Apple Vision Pro is touted for its cutting-edge technology, it still suffers from a fundamental flaw: it’s not comfortable enough for long-term use. In photos taken at the event, the strap of Samsung’s smart glasses looks quite simple, leading many to hope that Samsung will improve the design before the official launch.
