On January 7, technology company Microsoft announced a $3 billion investment in India over the next two years, aiming to expand cloud infrastructure, artificial intelligence (AI) and promote technological innovation in the country.

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella shared this information at the Microsoft AI Tour event in Bengaluru, India. He affirmed the company's commitment to the development of AI in India. The investment will include building new data centers and promoting innovative research in the field of AI.
In addition, Microsoft has committed to training 10 million people in AI skills over the next five years as part of its second ADVANTA(I)GE INDIA initiative to ensure India’s long-term competitiveness. Microsoft representatives also shared a comprehensive plan to equip millions of people in India with the necessary skills to meet the challenges of the AI era.

“India is becoming a pioneer in AI innovation, opening up huge opportunities for the entire country,” said Satya Nadella, adding that developing AI infrastructure and skills will ensure that every individual and organization in India can take advantage of the huge benefits of this technology.
On the same day, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Mr. Nadella in New Delhi to discuss cooperation opportunities in the field of technology and AI. It can be said that with more than 30 years of operation in India, Microsoft continues to affirm its belief in the country's great potential and commits to continue to contribute to helping India develop strongly in the global AI era.
