After many subscribers were temporarily suspended in one direction, many people began to rush to update data to avoid the risk of being locked in both directions.

In recent days, the number of people coming to transaction points to ask for information and verify subscribers has tended to increase after cases of one-way locking appeared.

Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Ms. Tran Thi Minh Anh - Store Manager of MobiFone Nguyen Van Huyen said that the number of customers coming to support authentication has increased significantly compared to the initial deployment time.

Many customers come to the store after discovering that the subscriber has been locked and called out or are worried that they may be locked in both directions in the future. Most of them are supported to check information and verify directly at the counter," Ms. Anh said.

According to Ms. Anh, many users had received notifications before but were still subjective or had not arranged the implementation time. However, when cases of one-way suspension began to appear, the psychology of fear of complete communication interruption also increased.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai (Hanoi) said that a few days ago she discovered that her subscriber could not make a call even though she still received the call normally.

I thought it was not serious to still be able to answer the phone. But when I learned about it, I realized that if it continued to be unverified, it could be locked in both directions later, so I had to take advantage of going to work immediately," Ms. Mai said.

According to Ms. Mai, the phone number is currently used for banking, work and many online accounts, so if it is completely interrupted, it will be very inconvenient.

Meanwhile, Mr. Tran Quang Huy (Bac Ninh) said that he proactively verified immediately after receiving the notice from the network operator because he was worried about affecting his work.

I see many people being locked in one direction before going to work, so I also take advantage of updating early to feel secure," Mr. Huy shared.

There is still time to update information

According to Circular 08/2026/TT-BKHCN, after a subscriber is temporarily suspended from one-way service, users still have time to complete information verification.

If within 60 days from the time of one-way locking, the subscriber has not been updated, the network operator will continue to temporarily suspend the two-way service according to the handling roadmap.

This means that for subscribers who were locked in one direction in early May but have not been verified, the time to be locked in both directions may fall around early July.

After this step, if the user continues not to update information, the subscriber may have their contract terminated and their number revoked according to regulations.

What to do to avoid being double-locked?

According to network operators, the simplest way to avoid being double-locked is to proactively complete authentication immediately upon receiving notification.

People can do it through the official application of the network operator, the VNeID application or directly at the transaction point.

In case it has been one-way locked, users can still restore the service normally after completing authentication according to instructions.

Records at many stores show that most procedures only take a few minutes if personal information is complete and data matches.
