The temporary suspension of one-way services for unverified subscribers has been implemented since Circular 08/2026/TT-BKHCN took effect from April 15, based on the provisions of Decree 163/2024/ND-CP on subscriber information management.
Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Le Minh Tuan (Hanoi) said that a few days ago, he discovered that he could not make a call even though the phone still had signal. Initially, he thought it was a network error, but after checking, he found out that the subscriber had been temporarily suspended in one direction.
The phone still receives calls but cannot go out. I don't know when I was locked, and I don't know how to handle it," Mr. Tuan said.
According to him, he had previously received a message from the network operator regarding subscriber authentication, but because he was busy with work, he did not implement it. "I thought it was not urgent, so I left it for later, but unexpectedly it was locked so quickly," Mr. Tuan said.
This situation is not isolated. Records show that many users, after being temporarily suspended in one direction, begin to learn about the regulations, while before that they were not clear or subjective to notifications from network operators.
Why is one-way subscription locked?
According to current regulations, subscribers are only temporarily suspended from one-way services when they have received notifications from the network operator but do not verify information within the required time.
This is the first step in the processing roadmap to remind users to complete verification. If they continue not to do so, the subscriber may be temporarily suspended in both directions and then the SIM card may be revoked according to regulations.
The implementation aims to ensure accurate subscriber information, limit the situation of non-genuine subscribers and reduce the risk of being exploited for illegal acts.
What do users need to do to reopen their subscription?
Telecommunications businesses said that in cases of one-way suspension, users do not need to carry out complicated procedures.
The simplest way to handle it is to re-verify subscriber information according to the network operator's instructions. Users can choose one of the following forms:
- Perform on the official application of the network operator.
- Confirm information through the VNeID application.
- Go directly to the store or transaction point for support.
After completing authentication, the subscriber will have their dial call restored and continue to use it normally.
