Recently, a group called the Flappy Bird Foundation announced plans to revive the game that has been dormant for a decade.
However, according to PV's update on September 16, the original developer of Flappy Bird, Nguyen Ha Dong, has just said that he is not involved in this project at all.
"No, I have nothing to do with their game. I don't sell anything. I also don't support cryptocurrency" - Nguyen Ha Dong spoke up on his personal page on social network X.
Previously, there was a lot of information showing that the revival of Flappy Bird seemed to be aimed at promoting cryptocurrencies.
Cybersecurity researcher Varun Biniwale discovered hidden pages on Flappy Bird's website that contained information related to Web 3, microtransactions, and the Solana cryptocurrency. He also found a demo version of the game with a leaderboard filled with cryptocurrency-related usernames.
In 2014, Nguyen Ha Dong took Flappy Bird down less than a year after its release. The creator was concerned that the game had become too addictive.
