You shouldn't just look at the lowest version price
After Apple launched the new iPhone series, Vietnamese users have more choices in the high-end segment. Among them, iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max have starting prices of 38.999 million VND and 41.999 million VND respectively in Vietnam. iPhone Duo is priced from 64.999 million VND for the 256 GB version.
However, high prices are not the only factor buyers need to consider.
iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max both have capacity options of 256 GB, 512 GB, 1 TB and 2 TB. With iPhone 18 Pro, the prices are from 38,999 million VND, 45,499 million VND, 58,499 million VND and 77,999 million VND respectively. Meanwhile, iPhone 18 Pro Max is priced from 41,999 million VND, 48,499 million VND, 61,499 million VND and 80,999 million VND.
This means that the advertised price only applies to the 256 GB version. Users who need to record videos frequently, store many photos or use the device for a long time need to consider the capacity from the beginning, because the cost of upgrading memory is quite large.
Especially, with iPhone Duo, the price of the 2 TB version is up to 103.999 million VND in Vietnam. Therefore, buyers should determine their actual needs instead of choosing high capacity just because of the psychology of "buying for a long time".
Be careful with laptops and eSIM versions
A noteworthy point for Vietnamese users is eSIM. Apple confirms that iPhone Duo only uses eSIM worldwide, does not support physical SIMs. Apple also lists Viettel, MobiFone and VinaPhone in the group of carriers in Vietnam supporting eSIM.
Therefore, if you buy a portable iPhone Duo, users need to carefully check the version of the device and compatibility with the carrier before paying.
For people who are using physical SIMs, switching to eSIM also needs to be considered. It is not only necessary to check whether the device can catch the signal or not, but it is necessary to confirm whether the network operator supports the appropriate activation method for the device.
This is also the reason why buyers should prioritize checking the machine code, origin and regional version instead of just looking at the appearance or selling price lower than genuine goods.
iPhone Duo is a completely new design, so consider usage needs
iPhone Duo is Apple's first folded iPhone. When closed, the device has a 5.4-inch external screen; when opened, the internal screen reaches 7.6 inches. The device uses Touch ID integrated into the side button instead of Face ID.
This is a very big difference compared to traditional iPhones. Therefore, buyers should not only decide based on the psychology of wanting to own the latest product.
If you mainly use your phone for calling, texting, social networks and taking photos, the foldable screen advantage may not be enough to compensate for the high price. Conversely, people who regularly read documents, view content or need multitasking on a large screen can better utilize this design.
Users should also wait for actual reviews of the durability of the folding screen, hinges and repair costs before deciding, especially if they intend to use them for many years.
Carefully check warranty policy
If purchased genuine in Vietnam, users have an advantage in warranty policy and after-sales support. Apple said the new iPhone comes with a one-year hardware repair warranty and 90-day technical support. AppleCare+ can extend the warranty period to two years and add benefits for damage due to unexpected incidents, with service fees depending on the case.
Meanwhile, with laptops, buyers need to ask the store clearly about the origin, warranty period, warranty scope and exchange policy.
A difference of a few million VND between genuine goods and smuggled goods should not be considered simply "cheaper". Users need to consider both costs and risks if the device has problems.
