OpenAI develops versatile AI application for computers

QUANG MINH |

OpenAI is said to be developing a "super application" for computers, integrating ChatGPT, its own browser and Codex application.

A company representative said that Ms. Fidji Simo - Director of Applications - will lead this reform process. Ms. Simo will also join the marketing team to promote the application when it is launched.

OpenAI's leadership expects the merger of many products to simplify the user experience and focus resources on a single platform.

Although there has been no official announcement, Ms. Simo responded to an article on social network X, emphasizing: "Companies always go through the testing phase and the re-focus phase, both of which are important. But when new directions begin to show effectiveness, like with Codex, focusing and avoiding dispersion is very necessary.

In the context of the increasingly fierce artificial intelligence race, OpenAI's product merger move shows a clear shift from expansion to streamlining and focus. Instead of developing many separate applications, the company is prioritizing building a unified platform where users can fully access AI tools in the same working environment.

If implemented effectively, this "super application" will not only help reduce fragmentation of the experience but also open up a new approach to AI, especially in highly productive jobs such as programming, data analysis or content processing.
