Leaks say the PS6 will likely have 3D graphics output efficiency three times higher than the standard PS5 and twice as much as the PS5 Pro. Sony is expected to continue to prioritize low power consumption and maintain reasonable production costs similar to the strategy that helped the PS4 achieve resounding success thanks to competitive sales prices.
The starting price is rumored to be 499 USD, along with backward compatible with both PS4 and PS5, helping users continue playing old games without having to buy from scratch.
Not only stopping at traditional gaming machines, Sony is also said to be developing a handheld device in parallel with the PS6. According to the leak, this handheld gaming machine will be equipped with a microSD Slot, M.2 SSD Slot, touch screen, touch feedback vibration, dual microphone and USB-C port to support image output.
The device is expected to outperform competitors like the ROG Ally X in terms of performance, with prices ranging from 400 to 500 USD.
Both the PS6 and the PS6 handheld are expected to start mass production from mid-2027, with releases falling between the fall of 2027 and early 2028.
If the above leaks are accurate, the PS6 generation promises to continue to strengthen Sony's leading position in the global gaming industry.
