Samsung Galaxy S25 is expected to be launched at the Unpacked event on January 22, 2025, with three main versions: Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+ and Galaxy S25 Ultra.
However, recent leaks have mentioned a new “Slim” version, model number SM-S937, which is said to have a significantly slimmer design. However, the release date of this version is still a big question mark.
In the latest One UI 7 beta, the Android Authority team dug through and found code related to the Galaxy S25 (SM-S931), Galaxy S25+ (SM-S936), and Galaxy S25 Ultra (SM-S938) models. However, there was no sign of the SM-S937, the Galaxy S25 Slim. This led to speculation that Samsung might delay the launch of this version.
There were previous reports that the Galaxy S25 Slim would be introduced alongside the three Galaxy S25 models at the Unpacked event. However, the absence of this model in the One UI 7 source code almost eliminates that possibility.
According to many sources, the Galaxy S25 Slim may be launched in mid-2025, along with the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7. This could also be an opportunity for Samsung to focus on highlighting this ultra-thin smartphone line, while avoiding direct competition with products in the main Galaxy S25 line.
In addition, Samsung is expected to launch a cheaper version of the Galaxy Z Flip, expected to be called the Galaxy Z Flip FE, in 2025. However, similar to the Galaxy S25 Slim, this Flip FE model also does not appear in the source code of the One UI 7 beta, showing that the product is still in the development stage.
If the Galaxy S25 Slim is introduced in the middle of next year, it would be a smart move to expand the product portfolio without clashing with the flagship devices of the S25 series. Fans can expect a brief teaser of the smartphone at the upcoming Unpacked event, before more details are revealed at Samsung's mid-year event.
