The Galaxy S25 Slim is said to be one of the thinnest Galaxy devices ever, part of Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S25 series, expected to be announced on January 22.
According to the latest information from reputable leaker Ice Universe, this device will have a body less than 7mm thin, significantly thinner than any model in the Galaxy S24 series.
This certainly gives the S25 Slim an edge in terms of being lightweight and stylish. However, this thinness is still unlikely to overtake the iPhone 17 Air, which is rumored to be only 6mm thick.
History shows that ultra-thin phones often come with trade-offs, like lower battery capacity, a weaker camera system, or limited durability. While Samsung hasn’t revealed much about the Galaxy S25 Slim, rumors suggest that the company may avoid these drawbacks.
According to previous leaks also from Ice Universe, Samsung may be planning to integrate an “Ultra” camera for the Galaxy S25 Slim, which means image quality will reach the level of flagship devices.
However, how Samsung manages to integrate high-end camera hardware, large battery capacity, and other features into an ultra-thin body remains a question that needs to be answered.
At least in terms of battery life, the recent advent of lithium-silicon battery technology is seen as a viable solution. This technology allows for higher energy density, meaning manufacturers can use smaller batteries, thereby reducing the size of the device or making room for other components.
