On September 18, the Steering Committee for Breakthroughs in Science, Technology, Innovation and Digital Transformation of Ca Mau province held a meeting to evaluate the results of activities and orient upcoming key tasks.
At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Phuong Bac - Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Ca Mau province - reported on the implementation of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on the development of science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation in the province (Resolution 57) and Action Program No. 97-CTr/TU of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee implementing Resolution 57.
To date, the province has completed 66/123 tasks, reaching 53.66%; in 2025 alone, 38/65 tasks (58.46%) were completed, with no missed tasks.
The members of the Steering Committee focused on analyzing the achieved results, pointing out shortcomings and limitations and proposing many practical solutions to remove difficulties in the implementation process. In particular, it emphasized a number of key contents such as: It is necessary to promptly edit and improve data to serve digitalization, ensure accuracy, synchronization and connectivity; propose to hire a Data Center from capable units instead of investing in infrastructure, to accelerate digital transformation; affirm the important role of the Startup and Innovation Center, not only a place to support businesses but also a platform to promote the application of science and technology in production and life.
Notably, the Department of Science and Technology has worked with the University of Queensland and Vingroup Corporation on signing a cooperation agreement between Queensland - Vingroup - Department of Science and Technology with an expected value of 10 million USD to implement the Ca Mau crab genome giai phapment.

Secretary of the Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Ho Hai requested to continue to effectively implement programs and action plans to implement Resolution 57 to ensure close connection between the development of science, technology, innovation and digital transformation with the goal of socio-economic development of the province.
The Secretary of the Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee also emphasized that data digitalization work must be done correctly, fully, cleanly, vividly, unifiedly and commonly used; considering this an important foundation for building a digital government. At the same time, it requires exemplary cadres and party members to be pioneers in applying technology, contributing to improving labor productivity and work efficiency.
The Provincial Party Secretary also directed relevant units to coordinate in reviewing and fully compiling statistics on tasks that need to be decentralized to communes and wards, especially those related to digital transformation, application of high technology in agricultural development, digital industry and urban management. At the same time, it is required to evaluate implementation results, promptly commend and reward collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements; have forms of reminders and handling of units that are still behind schedule, to ensure progress and effectiveness in implementing digital transformation goals and developing science and technology of the province.
