Promoting high-quality AI human resources
This will be the third leg in the Asia-Pacific region, following the competitions held in Singapore and Taiwan (China).
The rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI) is opening up many opportunities for programmers to directly experience new technologies and explore how to apply AI to solve practical needs. Through Hackathon, Sea and OpenAI want to create more space for the Vietnamese technology community to access advanced AI tools such as Codex and the latest GPT-6 Astra model, learn from experts and transform ideas into applicable products.
Mr. David Chen, representative of the organizing committee, said: "The Sea x OpenAI Codex Hackathon in Vietnam marks the expansion of cooperation between Sea and OpenAI, aiming to develop high-quality AI human resources, connect the community of technology experts as well as promote AI innovation throughout the Asia-Pacific region.
Vietnam possesses a dynamic and constantly developing technology ecosystem. Therefore, we expect the hackathon to become a space for domestic developers to exchange ideas, improve capacity and explore how AI can contribute to solving the practical needs of businesses and the community.
Through this, we want to contribute to realizing the goals in the National Strategy on Research, Development and Application of Artificial Intelligence to 2030, especially in developing AI human resources and promoting innovation, thereby contributing to the development of the digital economy".
Connecting and developing the AI talent community in Vietnam
Sea and OpenAI's hackathon playground is expected to gather AI programmers, students, startups to those who are building technology products and solutions across Vietnam, thereby creating more opportunities for technology talents to learn, experiment and apply AI, while connecting the AI community and domestic developers.
According to the group competition model, teams of 3-4 members will jointly develop technology projects, focusing on exploring ways to apply AI to solve the actual needs of businesses and the community. Participants also receive direct support and guidance from global experts of OpenAI.
The winning teams will have the opportunity to receive up to 30,000 USD of OpenAI API credit, along with additional prizes, including a ChatGPT Pro registration package for members of the top 5 teams.
Mr. Sidharth Sharma, Director in charge of Go-to-Market (GTM) ASEAN region at OpenAI, said: "Developers play a key role in bringing AI into practical applications. Vietnam stands out with its technological human resources, creativity and willingness to experiment.
Bringing the regional hackathon chain to Vietnam helps us strengthen connections with the domestic developer community, accompanying them to build products using Codex and the latest GPT-6 Astra model, sharing knowledge and solving practical problems together. We are looking forward to the products that the next generation of AI developers in Vietnam will create.
