Snapchat has just introduced a new feature called Home Safe, allowing users to send one-time notifications to friends when they are home without having to prepare messages.
However, only those who have been shared their location via Snap Map can receive this notification and the default location sharing feature is turned off, users need to activate it manually with each person or the entire list of friends.
Home Safe is especially useful in situations where you are often checked by friends or relatives for whether you have returned home or not, such as after a meeting, date or when parents want to know that their children are home safely.
To use it, users click on the Bitmoji icon on Snap Map, select My Home to set the private home location. Then, whenever you want to report home, just open a conversation with the person you want to report, click the map icon and select "Home Safe".
Snapchat has long supported location sharing but has continuously upgraded safety features. In 2022, the application added the ability to share live location in real time. Last year, the platform continued to expand the monitoring feature in the Family Center section, helping parents receive notifications when their children leave home or school.
