Spotify Jam is a Spotify feature that allows multiple people to listen to and add music to a real-time playlist at the same time.
When one person initiates Jam, others can join by scanning the QR code or accepting an invitation from the jam room owner.
Now, there is no need to transfer phones, as the Spotify Jam feature is about to arrive on the Android Auto system and cars integrated with Google. Announced at the Google I/O event, Spotify Jam will be integrated directly into the center screen of the vehicle, allowing users to warm up the music sharing list without opening the phone.
This feature helps passengers scan the QR code to participate in playlists, and contribute songs to the trip. Spotify first introduced Jam in September 2023 and quickly became popular for its ability to connect music between friends smoothly.
Upgrading Jam to Android Auto is a reasonable development, especially in collective mobility needs.
Spotify said Jam will appear in the next few months on more than 500 models that support Android Auto, before expanding to car manufacturers with Google integration. In addition, Google is also developing additional video viewing and web browser features in the Android Auto ecosystem.
