After the update allowed users to register for an easier service package earlier this month, the online music listening platform has now added the option to buy In-app speakers.
Accordingly, Spotify said that as soon as it sent a new update and was approved by Apple, users can view prices, buy books individually and buy additional hours of listening if it exceeds the 15 hours of the books included in the Premium package per month.
Spotify's expansion of direct payment capabilities in the iOS application is considered an important step forward, not only helping to improve the user experience but also demonstrating a change in the balance of power between major technology platforms and content developers. Previously, Apple has strictly limited payments outside the App Store ecosystem.
Spotify also enhances the integration of podcast content, allowing users to easily switch between different audio formats with just a few steps.
With a strategy of diversifying content, expanding payment utilities and applying AI technology, Spotify is gradually reshaping its role not only as a music listening platform, but also a comprehensive digital entertainment center. This is expected to help the company retain users for a long time in the context of increasingly fierce competition from Apple Music, YouTube Music and emerging services.
