Spotify will soon bring back the familiar app icon

Spotify said it will soon bring back the familiar app icon, after the new "disco ball" logo caused mixed reactions from many users.

The new icon was released by Spotify to celebrate the company's 20th anniversary. Instead of the familiar flat blue background, the application is replaced by a "disco ball" shape with a prominent and fun style.

However, many users believe that this design disrupts synchronization on the phone's main screen, even misunderstanding that this is a permanent change. Before the community's reaction, Spotify had to continuously explain on social networks that this is just a temporary icon.

According to Spotify, the old logo will return this week. Despite the controversy, many opinions still appreciate the company's creation of an interesting highlight for its 20th anniversary.

Opinions also suggest that many applications should take advantage of the icon change feature on iPhones, allowing users to choose their favorite interface instead of applying it by default to everyone. Previously, Instagram launched a similar campaign in 2020 with many replacement icon sets in a short time.

Although the "disco sphere" is not popular with all users, Spotify's celebration is still considered an interesting experiment before officially closing this week.
