On the morning of July 31, according to information from the Vietnam Internet Network Information Center (VNNIC, Ministry of Science and Technology), the unit has just successfully organized a training program on IPv6 and IPv6 Only for addressed members.
The program is organized on the VNNIC Internet Academy online training system, with the participation of nearly 130 management staff, technical staff and information technology staff of member units at the address.
The IPv6 Only training program in 2026 closely follows the spirit of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation and the Plan to promote and implement IPv6 transformation, implement IPv6 only in 2026 (Decision No. 1398/QD-BKHCN dated February 26, 2026).
2026 is identified as the pivotal year to launch the Program to promote, deploy, and convert IPv6 Only for Vietnam in the period 2026 - 2030, setting the goal that organizations, agencies, and businesses actively build plans and roadmaps for IPv6 conversion, deploy IPv6 Only, pilot the expansion of IPv6 Only on access networks, and set the goal of comprehensively converting the Vietnamese Internet to the new generation IPv6 (IPv6 Only) by 2030.
According to Mr. Hoang Xuan Hieu - Head of the Vietnam Internet Center Branch in Da Nang City, in the past 10 years, IPv6 has no longer been a test but has been strongly transformed globally.

More than 50% of Internet traffic in the world is IPv6 and is still increasing steadily. This means that IPv6 conversion, deploying IPv6 only is necessary, cannot be delayed, step by step stopping the operation of IPv4, towards a simpler, more efficient infrastructure model and ready to meet the development needs of the Internet in the future.
In that context, closely following the goal of innovation and creativity, fulfilling the role of orienting and leading the community, VNNIC has been and is continuing to build and complete IPv6 training programs, accompanying units to implement the national IPv6 Only goal.
At the training session, member addresses were shared by VNNIC lecturers about technology solutions to deploy IPv6 Only for network infrastructure; experience in deploying IPv6 only access network at VNNIC; instructions on deploying IPv6 for network infrastructure (IPv6/IPv4 and IPv6 only) and deploying DNS services (IPv6//IPv4 and DNS64), Web (IPv6//IPv4).
In addition, students are also equipped with knowledge and skills on planning, management and deployment of infrastructure and services on the IPv6 platform; guided on building a roadmap for IPv6 and IPv6 Only conversion suitable for each unit; shared reference models, solutions for service conversion from IPv4 to IPv6 and plans for establishing IPv6 Only network connection networks.
Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper, VNNIC said that in the coming time, it will continue to accompany and support organizations, agencies, and businesses, including Internet address members, in IPv6 conversion, piloting and replicating the IPv6 Only deployment model on the access network, closely following the goal of the Vietnam IPv6 Only Program 2026 - 2030.
In September 2026, VNNIC plans to organize the IPv6, IPv6 Only training program for Hosting, IDC, Cloud, Content blocks, with the goal of improving professional capacity for units (address planning, routing, NAT64, SLAAC, DHCPv6) and application services (DNS, Web) on the IPv6 platform. From there, promote IPv6 conversion for IDC, Cloud, and domestic content services; contributing to the implementation of the IPv6 conversion target in 2026 as well as the IPv6 Only Vietnam roadmap.
On October 27, 2025, the Ministry of Science and Technology issued the "Program to promote, deploy, and convert IPv6 Only for Vietnam in the period 2026 - 2030", according to Decision No. 3369/QD-BKHCN, setting the goal of comprehensively converting Vietnam's Internet to the new generation IPv6 (IPv6 Only) by 2030, Vietnam is in the group of 10-20 leading countries in the world in Internet to IPv6 conversion, deploying IPv6 only, contributing to innovation, creativity, digital infrastructure development, and developing new high-quality services (5G, 6G, Cloud, AI,...).
