On June 6, the Office of the People's Committee of Da Nang City informed that before September 30, all hospitals and medical centers of districts and towns, including ministerial hospitals and private hospitals in the city, must deploy and announce electronic medical records that meet the standards of the Ministry of Health.
To achieve this goal, medical facilities in the city need to establish a Steering Committee and a Working Group, develop a specific implementation plan, review existing information technology infrastructure, and invest or seek funding for appropriate software. At the same time, train staff on the use of software, digital signatures, and processes related to electronic medical records. Medical facilities also need to digitize existing forms, forms, and medical records and upgrade the Lan network.
The City People's Committee also requires hospitals to proactively develop implementation plans in accordance with the roadmap of the Ministry of Health. Hospitals need to review and upgrade information technology infrastructure, management software, image storage systems, testing, ensuring compliance with technical standards and the ability to integrate and connect data. Assign staff to participate in training courses on the operation of electronic medical records systems, information security, and medical examination and treatment procedures that do not use paper medical records.
Hospitals need to report monthly implementation progress to the Department of Health and ensure the completion of announcing electronic medical records by the end of September at the latest.
