Green Sweden will showcase innovative green solutions at the Green Economy Forum and Exhibition (GEFE) 2024. The event is organized by the Embassy of Sweden and Business Sweden, in response to Vietnam’s urgent need for sustainability and circular economy, in accordance with Decision 450/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister.
The event connects Vietnamese leaders with Swedish companies, providing a platform to discover valuable partners who can enhance Vietnam’s green initiatives. Attendees will have the opportunity to gain insights from industry experts and discover practical solutions tailored to local challenges.
The exhibition, which will feature leading companies such as Atlas Copco, Ecolearn, Ericsson, H&M, Hitachi Energy, Husqvarna and Trelleborg, will focus on renewable energy, emission reduction, circular economy and new technologies, with the aim of helping Vietnam strengthen its global position and attract investment.
Swedish Ambassador Johan Ndisi said: “As the world’s second most innovative country, Sweden is home to many of the most innovative and pioneering companies. Explore cutting-edge solutions from 5G, smart grids, energy storage systems to polymer technologies, food packaging, generators, pumps, gardening and forestry equipment, etc., that increase efficiency and climate resilience, supporting Vietnam’s sustainable development goals.
Sweden aims to achieve net zero emissions by 2045. We are proud to share our experience and best practices with Vietnam. Collaboration is key to tackling climate change and we aim to connect Sweden with key stakeholders in Vietnam's sustainability market. Our products contribute to Vietnam's circular economy by providing efficient and sustainable solutions for industries and households."
“The Swedish Green Exhibition at GEFE 2024 is more than just an exhibition; it is a collaborative platform to strengthen partnerships and accelerate Vietnam’s green transition. By showcasing our solutions, we hope to inspire closer cooperation between Sweden and Vietnam,” said Swedish Ambassador Johan Ndisi.
Representing the brand at the exhibition, Director of Ericsson Vietnam Rita Mokbel said: “Ericsson is focused on integrating our sustainability strategy and programs across the company, to create a positive impact on society. 5G technology is significantly more energy efficient than previous generations, supporting both cost and emissions reductions. 5G networks also act as a double whammy in responding to climate change by reducing not only the ICT industry’s emissions but also helping other sectors transition towards a low-carbon economy.
As an open innovation platform, 5G will have a direct impact on many areas of social and industrial infrastructure, including transportation, manufacturing, energy utilities and public safety, to name just a few. 5G will undoubtedly be an engine for economic growth, a fundamental tool for combating climate change and a bridge for social inclusion.”
On this occasion, the Embassy of Sweden also launched the "Sweden-Vietnam Business Mark," highlighting the strong cooperation between the two countries and the contributions of Swedish companies in Vietnam. The exhibition will be held in Ho Chi Minh City until October 23.
