As of the end of June 2026, the volume of express mail packages in China has exceeded the 100 billion package mark, according to the latest data provided by Xinhua citing information from the State Post Office of China (SPB).
This milestone was set 9 days earlier than in 2025, showing the stable recovery momentum of both the express delivery industry and the consumer market.
Mr. Liu Jiang - an official of the SPB Research and Development Center said that a series of stimulus policies implemented from the beginning of 2026 have contributed to promoting people's spending and optimizing the consumption structure.
According to him, the recovery of consumption has created momentum for the express delivery market to continue to expand.
In addition to growth in scale, this industry is also promoting the green transition process. Amended regulations on express delivery, effective from June 2025, have encouraged the use of environmentally friendly, reusable and biodegradable packaging materials.
SPB spokesman Lin Hu said that the standardization rate of packaging in the industry currently reaches 86%, while reusable cartons have been used more than 1.6 billion times.
Currently, China's express delivery sector also operates more than 75,000 vehicles using new and clean energy. "Smart delivery and low-carbon emissions are reshaping modern consumer lifestyles," Mr. Lin said.
According to SPB, in the coming time, the express delivery industry will continue to promote its core role in the logistics system, contributing to ensuring smooth economic circulation and promoting high-quality growth.
