Viettel is creating all favorable conditions for customers to verify subscriber information according to regulations, protecting genuine SIMs.

From April 15, 2026, Circular 08/2026/TT-BKHCN on verifying registration information and using mobile subscriber numbers officially takes effect nationwide. According to regulations, mobile subscriber numbers need to be cross-checked and fully verified with 4 information fields including: personal identification number, full name, date of birth and biometric facial image data, ensuring compatibility with the National Population Database or ID database.

On the My Viettel application, Viettel has integrated a feature to support online subscriber information verification, helping customers to operate on their own right at home, without waiting, without having to move if not necessary. The process is designed to be simple and easy to implement, supporting customers to complete verification steps in just about 3 minutes.

Customers only need to select the "Subscriber Information Verification" or "Information Standardization" feature, then take the steps in turn: take photos of the front and back of the chip-mounted CCCD, take portrait photos, scan NFC on the CCCD card, check the information and sign the confirmation. The entire process can be done anytime, anywhere on a smartphone.

Promoting support on digital platforms not only helps customers save time, but also contributes to reducing the load on transaction points, limiting congestion when the demand for authentication increases at the same time.

Strengthen human resources and expand thousands of support points nationwide

In parallel with the deployment of technology solutions, Viettel also mobilizes personnel across the system to support people in a timely, direct and widespread manner.

Support for verifying subscriber information is being implemented at supermarket systems, direct stores, and authorized stores of Viettel nationwide. At the same time, Viettel also coordinates with authorized retail chains such as The Gioi Di Dong, FPT Shop, CellphoneS... to expand more points of receipt and customer support, helping people easily access services in the nearest place.

In particular, from April 12, 2026, Viettel Telecom has simultaneously launched nationwide, arranging mobile support points in residential areas far from stores, remote areas, thereby bringing services closer to people, especially groups of customers facing difficulties in moving or operating technology.

The simultaneous combination of digital platforms, fixed transaction points and mobile support forces shows Viettel's efforts to help customers implement new regulations in the most convenient, fastest and suitable way for each actual condition.

Not all customers have to re-verify

Viettel also noted that not all customers have to redo the authentication operation.

The group identified as having completed authentication, no need to redo, includes:

    On April 13, 2026, Viettel proactively sent a notification message to this customer group to confirm that the subscriber number had been verified according to regulations. This customer group does not need to perform any additional operations and can continue to use the service normally.

    The remaining customers will need to perform facial biometric authentication according to regulations.

    After April 15, 2026, customers can self-check their subscriber status through:

      Protect genuine SIMs, reduce the risk of fraud and impersonation

      Verifying subscriber information according to Circular 08 is an important step to clean up telecommunications data and enhance user protection. Currently, phone numbers not only serve communication but are also associated with many important digital services such as bank accounts, e-wallets, VNeID level 2 identification accounts and many other electronic transactions.
