In recent days, after continuously reading information about some subscribers being locked for outgoing calls because they had not completed verification, Ms. Minh Hue (Hanoi) decided to reopen the VNeID application to check the phone numbers that are in her name.
Ms. Hue said that before that she was quite subjective because the phone number she was using had been registered for many years, often used for banking, work and online accounts.
I think my SIM has been registered as the official owner for a long time, so it is probably not related. Recently, I have seen newspapers mentioning one-way SIM locking a lot, I just went to VNeID to check again to see if there are any numbers that are in my name that have not been confirmed or not," Ms. Hue said.
According to Ms. Hue, when reviewing the information, she remembered that she had previously received some messages from network operators related to subscriber confirmation but did not pay attention because she thought they were just normal notifications.

Now I see that there is only about half a month left until June 15th, so I take the opportunity to check everything again. If the phone number I am using for the bank or work is interrupted, it will be very troublesome," Ms. Hue shared.
Similarly, Ms. Tran Thu Ha (Hai Phong) said that only when she saw an acquaintance being locked and called away because she had not completed verification, did she start to learn more about the new regulations.
Previously, I thought these regulations were still far away, so I didn't pay attention. Recently, reading news, I learned that many subscribers have been locked in one direction and there are only a few days left until June 15th, so I proactively checked my subscriber information," Ms. Ha said.
According to Ms. Ha, what worries many people is not the time-consuming authentication but the risk of missing notices from network operators while still thinking that their subscribers are completely normal.
Only 15 days until June 15, 2026
According to the Telecommunications Authority, subscribers who are required to be verified but have not completed owner confirmation on VNeID are at risk of having their SIMs locked from after June 15, 2026 according to the handling roadmap of telecommunications businesses.
According to Circular 08/2026/TT-BKHCN, June 15, 2026 is the milestone marking the 60-day transition period from the date the circular takes effect. In the period from April 15 to June 15, telecommunications enterprises shall review, compare data and send notifications to subscribers subject to verification.
In fact, some subscribers have been temporarily suspended from one-way services right during this period because they did not verify after receiving notifications from the network operator.
After June 15, the handling of subscribers who have not completed verification will continue to be implemented according to the prescribed roadmap. Depending on each subscriber group, users may be locked in one direction, locked in two directions or have their numbers revoked if they continue not to verify information.
According to network operators, users should proactively check phone numbers that are in their names on the VNeID application, and at the same time monitor notification messages from telecommunications businesses to promptly verify if they are in need of information updates.
