As of April 2026, the plan to implement the coordination program between the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Thai Nguyen Provincial People's Committee to support household businesses in digital transformation has recorded initial results.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong - owner of a grocery store in Thai Nguyen - said that previously, the management of goods and revenue was mainly manually recorded, so errors often occurred.

After being supported with using QR code sales and payment software, I manage orders much more conveniently. Customers pay quickly, and I also easily track revenue every day," Ms. Hong shared.

Meanwhile, Mr. Tran Van Dung - owner of a household appliance business in Thai Nguyen said that being guided to sell goods on social networking platforms helps stores reach more new customers.

“Previously, I only sold directly at the store. After being supported to create a fanpage and post products on online platforms, the number of customers asking to buy has increased significantly,” Mr. Dung said.

According to information from the Ministry of Science and Technology, digital technology businesses have approached more than 11,000 stores and business households in Thai Nguyen and directly supported digital transformation for nearly 4,500 units, reaching a rate of about 40%.

The survey results on the rdx.gov.vn system (operated by the Ministry of Science and Technology) show that about 52% of business households want to digitally transform. This reflects the increasing demand of the grassroots economic sector in applying technology to business operations.

Implementation practice also shows that the support model in the direction of "holding hands and guiding" through solutions such as sales management software, electronic invoices or tax declaration applications helps business households easily access digital technology, gradually improving management efficiency and business operation transparency.

From this result, recently, the Ministry of Science and Technology continued to coordinate with the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Da Nang City People's Committee and related units to organize a conference to announce the plan to pilot digital transformation support for wholesale and retail stores and business households in the city.

Da Nang was chosen as the next locality to implement the program thanks to its good foundation in digital government, digital infrastructure and innovation ecosystem.

According to the plan, the program is implemented according to a coordination model between the State, technology businesses and business households. In which, management agencies play a role in orienting and supporting implementation, technology businesses provide digital platforms and business households are the beneficiary center.

Participating households will be evaluated for free of their digital transformation readiness through the RDX system; be advised on choosing solutions suitable for the scale of their business and support the experience of many digital platforms serving sales, management and payment.

Many technology businesses and banks participate such as: VNPT, Viettel, MobiFone, MISA, KiotViet, Sapo, MoMo, Techcombank, MB, BIDV, Grab or Ahamove.

Some support contents include free sales management software for 6 months, free digital signatures, support for 5,000 electronic invoices, domain name .biz.vn support for 2 years with AI website and email according to domain name.

Business households are also guided to build brands on social networks, create content with AI, support SEO, deploy non-cash payments and connect to e-commerce platforms.

According to the set goals, the program in Da Nang will be implemented until the end of November 2026, surveying about 10,000 business households and striving for over 90% of households participating in the survey to be consulted and supported to experience appropriate digital platforms.
